Subwoofer Enclosure: TL Monster

The TL Monster is taking over your radio.  Here's one of my "what if" creations.

The setup is simple, six 13" Thin-Line Woofers from JL Audio mounted facing rearwards.  The amplifiers are three and they are all JL's 1000/1 models.  These subs can take up to 500W safely according to the JL spec sheet.

Basic data for the 13"

JL recommends a sealed enclosure for their sub.

Simplicity is Key and we are also thinking about removing this box from the Ford Explorer if we have to go pick up people from the airport.

The amplifier rack is detachable from the enclosure and has a compartment with a hidden door for all fusible junctions, splitters and distro blocks.

The two 304 S.S. bars on the front ensure nothing large and flat ever rests against your 2 front speakers.

Suggested interior volume is obviously taken into account during the construction of the model therefore this is a theoretical 'monster' if one was ever to be put together.

0.90cu. ft.
Good enough for government work.

For those of you who download this model over at GrabCad, you are getting the model of the box and also the JL Audio 1000/1 amplifier, as well as the 13TW5 woofer. Obviously they are just for reference and checking clearances, etc, just a simple bodies.

If someone would like to make a box for their car message me to look into the specifics, I can also do cut sheets and joinery in 3D.

I have some other box designs that are not so crazy.  I will post some of those another time.

Until next time,
